This Isle of Raasay single malt was matured in virgin Colombian oak barriques, made from Quercus humboldtii, in what is called an Oak Spices maturation. It is bottled at 50.7% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
The distillery on the Isle of Raasay uses water filtered through volcanic sedimentary rock and ferments for an unusually long 96 to 110 hours. That keeps the water's high mineral content and gives a berry-fruited character before any cask contact.
