Isle of Raasay – Single Malt Marsala Cask Limited Release (70cl, 50.7%)

This is a four year old single malt from Isle of Raasay, made from both lightly peated and unpeated spirit distilled between May and July 2021. All of it matured fully in Marsala Vergine barriques that had held the wine for up to 30 years, rather than receiving a short finish. The batches were vatted in June 2025 and bottled on Raasay the following month at 50.7%, without chill-filtering or added colour. The release runs to 12,300 bottles. Sweet grape must opens the nose, with a fine sharpness and Parma violets. Stewed apple and sweet pear meet ginger, maple syrup and a touch of balsamic on the palate. The finish is long, with lingering smoke.
