Isle of Raasay – 'The Chinkapin' Single Malt Scotch Whisky (70cl, 50.2%)

The Chinkapin is the third core release in the Isle of Raasay single malt range, bottled at 50.2% ABV. It is natural colour and non-chill filtered. Peated and unpeated spirit, made from 100% Scottish barley, are matured separately in fresh and refill Chinkapin oak casks, then brought together in Raasay's lightly peated style. Chinkapin is a North American oak still rarely used for whisky, and these casks have a high toast and heavy char. The result is a barbecue-like smokiness and depth alongside gentle peat.
