J. Henry & Sons La Flamme Reserve is a five-year-old Wisconsin straight bourbon in a 75cl bottle, made with the Henry family's heirloom red corn.
After its five years of ageing it receives an additional finish in imported French Armagnac casks, which brings dark-fruit and brandy-influenced character.
The nose offers cinnamon, golden raisin and dark fruit with caramel, vanilla, toasted oak and a hint of tobacco. On the palate come baked pear, spiced plum and dried fruit with walnut, cornbread and caramel. The finish is long and warming, with cinnamon, toasted oak and brown-sugar sweetness.
