J. Henry & Sons Patton Road Reserve is a cask strength, single barrel bourbon from Wisconsin, bottled at 59.75% in a 750ml bottle without dilution. The grain is all grown on the Henry family's farm.
The four-grain mashbill is 64% heirloom red corn, 14% Spooner rye, 14% winter wheat and 8% malted barley. The oak staves are seasoned for two years before the barrels are built.
Tasting notes describe sweet corn, caramel pudding, vanilla, toffee and toasted coconut on the nose. The palate is full-bodied and chewy, with caramel, baking spice and toasted oak, and the finish is long and warming, ending on toffee and dry oak.
