J.J. Corry The Gael 3 (70cl, 46%)

J.J. Corry The Gael 3 is an Irish blend of malt and grain whiskeys, made up of 49.5% blended malt whiskeys, 50% grain whiskey and a further 0.5% single malt added for extra aroma. The whiskeys matured in ex-bourbon and sherry casks. This third batch was bottled in spring 2020, with 1,860 bottles filled at 46%. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour. The name recalls a bicycle developed in the 1890s by the whiskey bonder J.J. Corry of Kilrush. The nose offers fresh bergamot and beeswax, the palate ripe pale stone fruit with lime, and the medium finish dried grapefruit and apple.
