J.P. Wiser's 27 Year Old Mizunara Oak Whisky (62.1%)

J.P. Wiser's 27 Year Old Mizunara Oak is a Canadian whisky made at the Hiram Walker & Sons Distillery in Windsor, Ontario. Master Blender Dr. Don Livermore developed this limited edition as part of the brand's work with wood science. After nearly three decades of Canadian ageing, the whisky had a secondary maturation in Mizunara oak casks imported from Japan. It is bottled at a cask strength of 62.1% ABV. The colour is deep copper with mahogany glints. The nose is perfumed, with sandalwood, agarwood and dried flowers, then toffee, dark chocolate and black cherry. The palate is oily and dense, with honeyed malt, cloves and apricot jam. The finish is long, with cedarwood, leather and cinnamon.
