Jack Daniel's 125th Anniversary of the Red Dog Saloon is a Tennessee sour mash whiskey released in the summer of 2017 as a limited edition. It marks 125 years since Jack Daniel opened the Red Dog Saloon in Lynchburg, Tennessee, in 1892, alongside the White Rabbit Saloon. The bottle follows the format of the 120th Anniversary White Rabbit Saloon release, with vintage saloon-era label artwork and gold scrollwork on a dark background.
The whiskey has the character of Old No. 7, charcoal mellowed through ten feet of sugar maple and matured in new American oak. It is bottled at 43% ABV (86 proof) in a 750ml bottle.
The notes describe a nose of vanilla, toasted oak, sweet corn and caramel, and a smooth palate of sweet corn, vanilla cream and brown sugar, followed by mellow oak and gentle spice.
