Jack Daniel's – 1954 Gold Medal (1L, 43%)

This is a Jack Daniel's commemorative bottling marking the gold medal the distillery won in Brussels in 1954. It was the brand's sixth gold medal, the Star of Excellence, and the whiskey is bottled at 43% in a 100cl bottle. As a Tennessee whiskey, it is made with iron-free water from the cave spring at Lynchburg. It goes through charcoal mellowing: the spirit seeps drop by drop through sugar maple charcoal stacked three metres high, then is filled into white oak barrels. The box shows light signs of storage.
