Jack Daniel's Holiday Select 2011 Limited Edition (75cl, 50%)

A Tennessee whiskey from the Jack Daniel Distillery, bottled at 100 proof (50%) and the first release in the Holiday Select series. It was unveiled at the distillery in Lynchburg on 3 December 2011. The whiskey was drawn from the barrels used to build the first Holiday Barrel Tree, a display of barrels put up near the town square for the season. A total of 187 barrels went into this release. Like other Jack Daniel's whiskey, it is charcoal mellowed. It is a rich amber in colour. The nose offers caramel, toasted oak, vanilla and maple sugar with sweet baking spices. The palate is bold yet balanced, with dark toffee, charred wood and cinnamon, and the finish is long and warming with toasted sugar.
