Jack Daniel's Rested Tennessee Rye Batch 002 (75cl, 40%)

Jack Daniel's Rested Tennessee Rye is a straight rye whiskey from the Jack Daniel Distillery in Lynchburg, bottled at 40% (80 proof) in a 75cl bottle. This is batch 002, released in April 2014, and it is the rye distilled in 2012 after about two years in the barrel. The mashbill is 70% rye, 18% corn and 12% malted barley, charcoal mellowed in the Lincoln County Process. It was the second step between the Unaged Rye of 2012 and the Tennessee Rye of 2017. The colour is a light yellow gold. The nose is grain forward rye spice with pipe tobacco, sweet candy and early oak. The palate brings spicy rye, cherry cordial, light toasted oak and emerging vanilla, and the finish is medium with lingering rye spice.
