Jack Daniel's – Single Barrel Rye (70cl, 45%)

Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Rye is a Tennessee rye whiskey bottled at 45% in a 70cl bottle. It is the first rye from Jack Daniel's in 150 years and the third release in the Single Barrel series. The mash bill is 70% rye, 18% corn and 12% malted barley, matured in American white oak. Like all Jack Daniel's, it is mellowed through sugar maple charcoal, which makes it a Tennessee whiskey rather than a bourbon. The colour is copper. The nose is expressive and spicy, with almond and hazelnut. The palate starts with wood and spice, then the corn adds a rich texture, with ripe apricot and orange peel. The finish is warm, peppery and lingering.
