Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Select (75cl, 47%)

Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Select is a Tennessee whiskey from the Jack Daniel Distillery in Lynchburg, with every bottle drawn from one barrel rather than a mingling of many. The distillery's tasters hand select the barrels from the upper floors of the barrelhouses, and the neck band records the barrel number, rack location and bottling date. The mashbill is 80 per cent corn, 12 per cent malted barley and 8 per cent rye. The whiskey is charcoal mellowed through sugar maple charcoal and matured in new charred American oak. It is bottled at 94 proof (47%). The nose is caramel, toasted oak and vanilla with dried banana. The palate is medium bodied, with caramel, spice and bright fruit over charred oak, and the finish is long, with brown sugar and white pepper.
