Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Special Release 2020 Barrel Proof Rye is a Tennessee rye whiskey from the Jack Daniel Distillery in Lynchburg. This bottle comes from a single barrel, bottled uncut and unfiltered at 132.9 proof (66.45%). The 2020 release was drawn from 200 barrels.
The mashbill is 70% rye, 18% corn and 12% malted barley. The spirit was distilled in January 2015, mellowed through sugar maple charcoal in the Lincoln County Process and matured in new charred American oak.
The nose is bourbon-like and led by dessert notes: banana, brown sugar, French toast, vanilla and a lift of lemon zest. The palate is thick and creamy, with brown sugar sweetness and cool mint.
