This is a Marc de Bourgogne from the house of Jacoulot, founded in 1891 by Vincent Jacoulot, a politician, grower and distiller. The business is based in Romanèche-Thorins, close to the Côte de Beaune, and has been under the ownership of Philippe Vançon since 2013.
It is made from destemmed Pinot Noir pomace supplied by growers of the Côte de Beaune. The pomace is distilled once in a mobile still, at an average strength of 52% vol, then aged in barriques for at least seven years.
