Jameson Single Pot Still is the Five Oak Cask Release, made at Midleton Distillery from malted and unmalted barley distilled three times in copper pot stills. It is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle and is not chill-filtered.
Maturation combines ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks with first-use Irish, European and American oak. The previously used casks bring dried fruit, vanilla and fudge, while the fresh oak adds light toasted notes and woody spice.
Cinnamon, nutmeg, toasted oak, honeycomb and salted caramel open the nose. The palate brings dark chocolate, spicy toffee, ground cinnamon, a little ginger and orange peel, with a silky texture. Spice and oak linger to the end of the finish.
