Jelínek 10 Year Old Gold Slivovitz Plum Brandy (42%)

This is a 10 year old slivovitz, a plum brandy from the Jelínek distillery, bottled at 42% ABV. It is made from fully ripe plums, fermented with their skins and pits, and distilled in copper stills. The spirit is aged in oak barrels for at least ten years, which softens it and adds vanilla and spice while keeping the fruit at its core. The nose shows ripe plum and dark cherry with vanilla bean, toasted oak and a hint of marzipan. The palate is medium to full, with black plum, cinnamon, clove, toasted almond and cedar, lifted by citrus zest.
