Jim Beam Black is a Kentucky straight bourbon matured for seven years in freshly charred American white oak casks. It is made at the Jim Beam distillery in Clermont, Kentucky, from a mash bill of corn, rye and malted barley. It is bottled at 45% in a 70cl bottle, with no added colouring.
The nose is vanilla, toffee and creamy sweetness, with a little oak spice and a faint hint of smoke. The palate is soft and full, with caramel, vanilla ice cream and buttery toffee, carried by spicy oak. The finish is balanced and fairly long, with gentle wood, vanilla and light sweetness.
