Jim Beam Double Oak is a twice barreled Kentucky straight bourbon, launched in 2014 and bottled at 43% ABV (86 proof). It uses the Jim Beam mash bill of 77% corn, 13% rye and 10% malted barley.
The bourbon is aged for four years in new charred American oak, then moved into a second freshly charred American oak barrel and aged further, so it meets virgin wood twice.
Deep amber with copper tones, it has a nose of caramel, vanilla, toasted wood and maple syrup, with a touch of green oak and roasted nuts. The palate is bold and spiced, with caramel, toffee, dark brown sugar and charred oak, and the finish is long and woody with a gentle warming spice.
