Knob Creek 12 Year is a small batch Kentucky straight bourbon aged for 12 years in deeply charred American white oak barrels at the Jim Beam Distillery in Clermont, Kentucky. It is bottled at 50% ABV (100 proof) in a 750ml bottle, and is non-chill filtered to keep its natural oils. It first appeared as a limited release in 2019 before joining the core range.
The colour is dark amber with a touch of red. The nose has heavy toffee, charred oak, tobacco, toasted coconut, dark chocolate, vanilla and leather. The palate is bold and spicy, with caramel, cinnamon, roasted nuts, dried fruit, espresso and brown sugar. The finish is long, warm and smoky, with tobacco, dark chocolate and lingering spice.
