The Battalion Batch No.3 is an Irish blend from JJ Corry, made up of 60% grain and 40% malt whiskey. It matures first in bourbon casks, and the grain whiskey is then given a short finish in Tequila casks.
This batch was released in 900 bottles. The Tequila finish gives it a lively, zesty character.
The nose is sweet, with fresh agave, grassy honey, oak spices and cashew nuts. On the palate there is slightly unripe mango and green apple, with toasted nuts and fresh hay. The finish brings salted caramel and a touch of fresh thyme.
