Joseph Sparkling Red NV McLaren Vale (75cl)

Joseph Sparkling Red is a sparkling red wine from Primo Estate, the family winery of Joe and Dina Grilli in McLaren Vale, South Australia. It is a non-vintage wine in the Australian sparkling red tradition. The base is young McLaren Vale Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Shiraz, blended with a reserve solera of older wines spanning six decades. After bottle fermentation the wine rests on its lees for eighteen months, is disgorged by hand, then given a dosage of aged Australian fortified wines for a savoury style. On the palate it shows fruit mince pies, old leather, dark chocolate and rich spice.
