Jura The Sound is a single malt from the Isle of Jura, in a 1 litre bottle. It is matured first in ex-bourbon casks, then finished in casks that previously held 15-year-old Pedro Ximenez.
It is distilled in the village of Craighouse, where whisky has been made since 1810, using water from the Bhaille Mharghaidh river. Jura describes the house character as fruity, with an indirect smoky and salty note.
The flavours run from maple syrup drizzled over hazelnuts to warm orange peel and black forest fruits.
