Kaijin is a Japanese blended whisky from Masahiro Shuzo, in a 70cl bottle at 40%. The name means sailor in Japanese, a cultural symbol of Okinawa. It blends grain whisky with aged malt whisky, using techniques the company has followed since its founding in 1883, and it was matured in oak casks.
The nose has citrus, vanilla, tropical fruit and a hint of freshly cut grass. The palate is light-bodied but rich, balancing oak and vanilla with a touch of caramel. The finish is long, with tropical aromas, subtle spice and a creamy feel in the mouth.
