Kanosuke Double Distillery 2025 Limited Edition (70cl, 59%)

Kanosuke Double Distillery 2025 Limited Edition is a blended whisky vatted from Kanosuke and Hioki distilleries in Kagoshima, Japan, in a 70cl bottle at 59% ABV. It is classed as a blend because the pot still whisky from Hioki's stainless steel stills counts as grain whisky. It is bottled without chill filtration. The key malt was matured in sherry casks, then finished in re-charred ex-shochu casks. A Hioki pot still whisky aged in rum casks adds further depth. The nose offers dried apricot, plum compote, canelé pastry, custard cream and cinnamon bark. The palate has ripe pear, grated apple, white peach, raisins, ginger and crème brûlée. The finish is salted caramel with a lingering echo of aged wood.
