Kanosuke – Single Malt Japanese Whisky (70cl, 48%)

A single malt from the Kanosuke distillery in Hioki City, Kagoshima, in the south of Japan, bottled at 48% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The distillery was founded in 2017 and looks out over the East China Sea in a subtropical climate of hot summers and cooler winters. It belongs to the Komasa family business, which has made spirits since 1883 and created the cask-aged shochu Mellow Kozuru in 1957. Three copper stills of different shapes and lyne arms produce distillates with their own character, which the distillery team can combine. The whisky is described as bringing together fruity, sweet and spicy aromas.
