Kavalan – Sherry Oak Single Malt Whisky (70cl, 46%)

Kavalan Sherry Oak is a single malt from Yilan County, Taiwan. It is matured entirely in Spanish Oloroso sherry casks, the same casks used for the distillery's Solist Oloroso range, and bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It is natural colour and non-chill filtered. The whisky ages in Yilan's warm, humid climate. On the nose there are dark raisins, stewed prunes, caramelised nuts and rich oak. The palate offers sherry-soaked fruitcake, cocoa, red berries and warming spice, followed by a long finish of walnut, tobacco leaf and sweet oak tannins.
