Kavalan Solist Sherry Cask is a single malt from Taiwan, matured in Spanish Oloroso sherry casks. It is a single cask bottling at cask strength, in a 70cl bottle, with each bottle carrying its cask and bottle number. Strength varies between casks, from 50 to 60% ABV.
The sherry casks give the whisky its colour and a rich character.
The nose is rich sherry with nuts and savoury spice, and a hint of almonds and vanilla. The palate is full, with dried fruit and spice and a touch of coffee. The finish is long and slightly astringent.
