This is a 14-year-old single malt from Kilchoman, released as part of the distillery's 20th Anniversary Cask Series. It was drawn from five sherry butts filled in 2011 and bottled at 55% ABV, with natural colour and without chill-filtering.
The whisky is notably smoky, with a deep sherry influence and layers of spice and barbecue character.
The nose offers BBQ glaze, singed raisins and peat smoke, with cracked black pepper and dark cherries. The palate is warming and intense, with clove, liquorice, roasted nuts and sherry-soaked fruit, and the finish brings sweet spice, savoury smoke and grilled plums.
