An eight-year-old Islay single malt from Kilchoman, finished in tequila casks and bottled as a single cask at 52.8% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It was released for the LMDW SG 15th anniversary.
Kilchoman was the first distillery built on Islay for over a century, and it works on the farmhouse model, distilling from barley grown on its own land.
The nose has lemon, citrus and grass with butterscotch and light fresh smoke. The palate brings cinnamon, vanilla pod and honey, juicy fruit, distinct agave and charred oak. The finish is long, with warming peat smoke and lingering fresh fruit.
