Kilchoman – Machir Bay Cask Strength 2025 Edition (70cl, 58.1%)

This is the 2025 edition of Machir Bay Cask Strength, an Islay single malt from Kilchoman, bottled unfiltered at natural cask strength of 58.1% ABV in a 70cl bottle. Kilchoman was founded in 2005 and was Islay's first new distillery in over a century. It is a pioneer of the farm distillery model, making whisky from barley grown and malted on site. This bottling takes the usual Machir Bay character of peat smoke, citrus and vanilla and makes it more concentrated. The nose has lemon peel, melon, floral notes and light peat smoke with vanilla and honey. The palate brings rich chocolate, fresh citrus and smoked meat, and the long finish carries peat smoke, gentle spice and charred candied fruits.
