Kilchoman Machir Bay is an Islay single malt Scotch whisky, matured in ex-bourbon casks and Oloroso sherry butts. The result is a balanced profile of vanilla biscuits, light fruit and a touch of warm peat smoke.
Kilchoman was founded in 2005 by Anthony Wills, and was the first new distillery built on Islay in over 124 years.
The nose has citrus zest, crumbly vanilla pastry and layers of peat smoke. The palate opens with tropical fruit and dried raisins, with warming smoke following. The finish brings sherried fruit and a hint of burnt black pepper.
