Kilchoman – Rockside 11 Year Old (46%)

Kilchoman Rockside is an 11 year old Islay single malt, named after Rockside Farm, where the distillery stands. It follows the distillery's 100% Islay series and is bottled at 46% ABV. The barley was grown on the distillery's own fields, and for this edition it was harvested more than ten years ago. The whisky was malted, peated to 20 ppm, distilled, matured and bottled on Islay, with eleven years in a mix of bourbon and sherry casks. Tasting notes describe fruity aromas with fresh citrus and soft peat smoke on the nose. The palate is balanced, with sweet fruit, spicy oak and light smokiness, and the finish is medium to long, spicy, dry and gently smoky.
