Kilchoman – Sanaig

Kilchoman Sanaig is a peated single malt from Islay, filled from both bourbon and sherry casks. It takes its name from a small, rocky stream near the distillery on the island's west coast. Kilchoman was founded in 2005 and was the first new distillery built on Islay in more than 124 years. The nose offers pineapple pieces and white grapes, with fresh coffee alongside earthy, lightly spiced peat and toffee. On the palate there is peach and other pale fruit, raisins, dark chocolate, red berries and black pepper, with the peat building steadily. The finish is fairly long, with lingering coastal peat.
