Kilkerran 12 Year Old is a single malt from the Glengyle Distillery in Campbeltown, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It was the first core release from Glengyle after the distillery reopened in 2004, following a series of Work in Progress bottlings. It is lightly peated and non-chill filtered.
The nose is led by oak, with toasted marshmallow, dried fruit pudding, cherries, marzipan and a hint of peat. The palate opens fruity with citrus and orange peel, then moves to vanilla, butterscotch, honeycomb and digestive biscuits. The finish is smooth, with lemon meringue, oiliness and a salty note.
