Kilkerran 8 Year Old Cask Strength Bourbon Cask (70cl, 55.6%)

This is an 8 year old cask strength single malt from Glengyle distillery in Campbeltown, sold under the Kilkerran name, in a 70cl bottle. It was fully matured in ex-bourbon casks and bottled at 55.6% ABV. Kilkerran comes from the Gaelic name of the original settlement where Saint Kieran had his cell, on the site where Campbeltown now stands. The nose is floral, with elderflower and heather, then vanilla, custard creams and foam banana sweets. The palate brings cocoa nibs, Iberico ham and earthy peat smoke, with pineapple and coconut. The finish carries lingering peat smoke and a digestive biscuit note.
