Kilkerran 8 Years Old is a cask strength single malt from the Glengyle distillery in Campbeltown. This limited batch was matured for eight years in bourbon casks and bottled at 57.7%.
The nose is led by butterscotch and vanilla custard, with apple butter and white miso, followed by whipped cream cake and poached pear. The palate is creamy, with shortbread crust and soft caramel chocolate, and hints of gooseberry, white grape, cigar smoke and sandalwood. Green peppercorn and honeydew melon appear in the finish, alongside an ashy note.
