Knappogue Castle 12 Years Marsala Cask Finish is an Irish single malt made from Bushmills distillate, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It is a limited release of 1,200 bottles.
The whisky was matured entirely in ex-bourbon casks, then finished in Marco De Bartoli Marsala wine casks, which add a layer of fruit and a soft sweetness. It is triple distilled.
The nose brings soft vanilla, dried fruit, orange zest and a light Marsala sweetness. The palate is creamy, with honey, peach, raisins and subtle spice, balanced between sweet and dry. The finish is warm and medium-long, with oak and Marsala.
