Knob Creek 9 Year Old is a Kentucky straight bourbon made at the Jim Beam distillery in Clermont. Booker Noe, sixth-generation master distiller, introduced the brand in 1992 to revive the older, fuller style of pre-Prohibition bourbon. It is aged for nine years in new American white oak barrels with a deep level 4 char and bottled at 50% (100 proof).
Toasted nuts, oak, maple sugar, caramel and vanilla lead the nose, with a touch of sweet apricot. The palate is full-bodied, adding brown sugar and green peppercorn. The finish is long and warm, with leather, aged oak and rye spice.
