Knob Creek 9 Year Old is a small batch Kentucky bourbon from the Jim Beam distillery in Clermont, bottled at 50% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It matured for nine years in heavily charred American white oak casks, which give it a colour between bright copper and medium amber.
The nose combines toasted nuts, oak spice and grain with vanilla and caramel. On the palate, caramel, vanilla and wood lead into dried red apples, orange peel, cinnamon and cloves, with dark chocolate and roasted grain beneath. The finish is long, warming and spicy, with a trace of honey and oak.
