Knob Creek 9 Year Small Batch is a Kentucky straight bourbon made at the James B. Beam Distilling Co. in Clermont, Kentucky. Booker Noe created it in 1992 to recapture the bold, full flavoured style of bourbon from before Prohibition.
It is aged nine years in deeply charred new American oak and bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV) in a 750ml bottle. The mashbill is 77 percent corn, 13 percent rye and 10 percent malted barley.
The nose is toasted nuts, grain, oak and sweet vanilla. The palate is rich and full bodied, with caramel, oak, maple, warm baking spice and a touch of fruit. The finish is long and rich, with lingering oak and sweetness.
