Knob Creek "Rye of Passage" is a single barrel Kentucky straight rye whiskey from the Jim Beam Distillery in Clermont, bottled at barrel strength of 58% ABV (116 proof) rather than the standard 100 proof. It was selected under the direction of seventh-generation Master Distiller Fred Noe.
The whiskey comes from one barrel, taken from Floor 01, Rick 028. The barrel was filled on 3 October 2017 and selected on 28 March 2025.
The nose is bold rye spice with herbs, oak and vanilla underneath. The palate is full-bodied and peppery, layered with vanilla, caramel and deep charred oak. The finish is long and warm, led by spice, with oak lingering.
