Koval – Rye Bottled In Bond (75cl)

Koval Rye Bottled In Bond is a 100% rye whiskey in a 75cl bottle. It comes from Koval, founded in Chicago in 2008 by Dr Sonat Birnecker Hart and Dr Robert Birnecker, the first distillery to open in the city since the mid-1800s. The distillery works organically with a grain-to-glass philosophy. Its name means 'smith' in many Eastern languages, and in Yiddish 'one who forges ahead', a nod to Sonat's grandfather, who moved to the USA to start a new life. The spicy kick of the rye is clear, yet the whiskey is fresh and light, with sweet notes of maple and candy corn.
