Kujira 10 Year Old is a single grain Ryukyu whisky from Masahiro Distillery in Okinawa, Japan, made from 100% Indica rice and black koji. It was aged for more than ten years in virgin white oak casks and is bottled at 43% ABV in a 750ml bottle, non-chill filtered and without added colour.
It won Double Gold at the 2021 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
Honey, brown sugar, spice and soft oak open the nose. The palate offers butter-caramel sauce, liquorice, baked bread, clove and cinnamon, and the long, spiced finish carries a slight, pleasant bitterness against the sweetness.
