Kujira Inari is a Ryukyu whiskey from Masahiro Distillery in Okinawa, Japan, bottled at 46% ABV in a 75cl bottle. It is vatted from hand-picked casks.
The spirit is distilled from 100% Indica rice using black koji, a mould found only in Okinawa, and matured in oak in the subtropical Ryukyu climate. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour. Inari is the god of rice cultivation in Japanese mythology.
Apples, pears and tropical fruit show on the nose with a hint of spice. The palate has delicate oak, figs, nuts and butterscotch, and the finish is sweet and long.
