Kujira 5 Year Old Single Grain Japanese Whisky (43%)

Kujira 5 Year Old is a single grain Japanese whisky from the Masahiro Distillery in Okinawa, bottled at 43%. It belongs to the Ryukyu Whisky category, made with Indica rice fermented with black koji, and is matured in first-fill white oak casks in Okinawa's subtropical climate. Bright amber in the glass, it has a sweet nose of caramel, vanilla and a touch of liquorice over virgin oak. The palate is smooth and mellow, with toffee, vanilla, plums and cherries, along with pepper and oak spice. The finish is sweet and persistent, with baking spices and woody notes.
