Kurayoshi 18 Year Old is a Japanese single malt whisky from Matsui Whisky's Kurayoshi Distillery in Tottori Prefecture, on the shore of the Sea of Japan. The distillery is named after the city in which it stands. The nose is dominated by pepper, clove and star anise. The palate starts softly with honey, orange and apple peel, then grows in scale as the sweetness recedes, with root ginger and bitter fruit skins taking over. The finish is long, with crackling spices and sour fruits.
