Kurayoshi Pure Malt Whisky (70cl, 43%)

Kurayoshi Pure Malt is a Japanese blend of malt whiskies, made by Matsui Shuzo in Tottori Prefecture, in the foothills of Mount Daisen. It is bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. The malts are aged in white oak barrels and the whisky is made with spring water filtered through volcanic rock. It carries no age statement. The nose is white peach, vanilla bean and sweet malt, with hints of toasted oak and chamomile. The palate is honeyed cereal, apricot and almond with soft oak spice. The finish is gentle, with barley sugar, green tea and a touch of dry citrus zest.
