Kurayoshi Sherry Cask Pure Malt Whisky (70cl, 43%)

This is a Japanese malt whisky from Matsui, aged for more than three years in sherry casks and bottled at 43% ABV in a 70cl bottle. Its colour is light gold, like a dried orange. The sweetness and acidity are well balanced, and it is finished lightly with spring water from the wilderness of Tottori. The nose offers sherry, raisins and vanilla, with a hint of fresh malted barley. The palate brings caramel, malt and lemongrass, with toasted nuts and vanilla. The finish is bittersweet.
