Kurayoshi Sherry Cask is a Japanese blended malt in a 70cl bottle, bottled at 43% ABV. It is made by Matsui Shuzo in Tottori Prefecture, where imported Scotch malts are blended with local Japanese groundwater and then matured in sherry casks.
The nose is soft and rounded, with stewed red fruit, toffee and a trace of roasted nuts. The palate is silky, with sherry-soaked raisins, vanilla, spice and subtle oak tannins. The finish is medium and mellow, with cocoa, dried fruit and a faint nuttiness.
